Funtactix pulled me out of the Las Vegas desert to create their Los Angeles art team office.   This was so we could work on 

lizards living in a desert. Living in a lizard town, with a lizard Sheriff.  We were sworn to secrecy on this project.  Seriously? I think the 'Top Secret' part was hardest thing to handle on this game.  It was SO COOL to work on!

The content and ultimate boss was Paramount Pictures.  Their reference art was supplied to us in small batches each with a giant watermark. Eventually though, we got enough reference to fuel our inspiration and we built an authentic game.  Complete with a lizard town and a lizard Sheriff and an awkward star character lizard named Rango. 

​

And only when we were done did we get to see the early movie premiere at Paramount!  Super cool. 

 

I actually like real lizards now!
