Sudoku Deluxe is another game by Mobile Deluxe. The starting goal of Sudoku Deluxe was to give it a whole different look. I had hired a couple of talented artists that helped me shape the look of the game. I wanted Sudoku to have a calm, relaxing, quiet feel for our players. Our palette conveys that feeling from image one, the Splash Screen!
We worked hard making sure that feeling was passed thru the entire game. The following attributes were passed on in the UI screens and the ingame:

Paper-cut out elements

Stitchery- lots of stitches

Soft background patterns and colors

An inviting paper bird, who always looks kind and intelligent
The most challenging aspect of game dev was making sure every important element is easily seen on the phone versions. Contrast- too much is bad, too little is worse! It was challenging- but not impossible!
